The top photo of my site is the ridges of Moundsville and the bottom is the pesnitentiary. We have that saying proudly displayed in our entry way, knowing that we are soldiers in God's Army! We are residents of a very small town "Moundsville" it comes with the charming real small downtown shops such beautiful old buildings. Our Corps is located on the corner of Jefferson and 7th just over from the world renowned Penitentiary, that used to be used for the headquarters if there was a prison riot. Our Corps / Chapel was built in late 1800's (I have to look at the front of the building and relearn my roman numerals) as the First Christian Church and then a car garage and now The Corps. I am still trying to find out more history because it is one of the most beautiful building inside that I have seen in a long time. It is just in need of some updating but unfortunately the updating will not uncover the beauty that lays beneath it is simply amazing. Hopefully we will be able to encourage the locals to help fix it up so they can be proud of their history too.
Our 1959 house, that was fashioned after a "lakehouse", is full/large unopenable windows down three sides of the house and it used to have it's own shooting range in the basement. Fans keep us semi cooled right now, we have a routine now of closing and opening sheers and blinds at certain times of the day for the light and to keep the heat down the windows on the back side are our favorite because of the view. We are located on on the edge of town just up from the
Mount Rose Cemetery and are literally surrounded by the ridges of
Grand Vue Park, that alone is a spectacular sight especially in the morning when the fog has not yet evaporated. Our little area is considered a bird sanctuary but I think all the animals feel safe because every day all day long we get to watch deer and rabbits come in from the park and eat the apples in the back. It has been quite a chore though to keep our dog Mia from "rolling" in their poo - it is so gross, she somehow feels it is necessary to come in smelling like a barn yard and she hates getting wiped off-go figure! Mia will run out and bark like she is so vicious but the deers still win because Mia is on a lead and there are two babies that enjoy taunting her.
The move has been an adjustment especially since it was our first but it was good because we certainly got rid of a lot of "stuff" we were hanging onto since before training. Emma has had a boring few weeks because she is in the midst of getting ready for college and doesn't get out much but certainly sits on the computer all day!
Charley is at TMI right now and says it is very hot. Before that he was able to get out into the community and meet a few people. He is such a peoples person and loves to just chat, chat, chat. As for me I have been experienceing some intense pain, we thought it was because of the move and over doing it but now we do not know. I hope to stop hurting so bad soon. I am going to Cleveland Clinic for the inplant in my lower spine to help regulate the nerve damage pain on August first. I would greatly appriciate as many prayers that can be prayed thank you. Hopefully it will not take me so long to get back on line.
