  • Springtime

Spring has sprung and it has been so beautiful here for the last few days.  I love the sunshine and flowers, the green grass and fresh spell of the morning while the fog is still over the ridge.  I am hopeful everytime I look outside, hopeful to see the "scout" hummingbird the clue that more will come.  They are the official signal of the start of spring and they will be here until fall.  The tree and rose bushes all in bud everything waking up, new life.  God is so wonderful He always brings new life no matter what the down time is there is always new life.  I love Spring.

PRAISE GOD FROM WHOM ALL BLESSINGS FLOW.......

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.......and on and on....

We went to Cleveland Clinic yesterday October 21 to have my post-op.  :o}  I have been a very good girl!!!  My incision is healed up nicely and my stim is working for the pudendal nerve the doctor is happy with those results.  Now we wait for my body to form scar tissue over the leads in my spine and the unit. I will remain on several medications to help with the pain (no narcotics) but have been taken off the antibiotic.  I have been given permission to take a shower without my back shield (ye-pee) and have specific instructions to follow for eleven weeks.  After that I will be able to start physical therapy, until then I am to be careful not to twist, make any sudden movements, bend over too much or to lift anything, sit for prolong times, jump, jog and many more of those wonderful "lower back" uses, so please help me stay accountable for my continued healing.  Do please continue to pray for the femoral nerve to heal, the last nerve block did not work and because of the damage and location, well we are continuing to give it to God.

This has been a long hard road and I know you have traveled it with me in prayer and concern.

Now, I am requesting Praises to God for His healing, for using all the doctors in Cleveland to help.  Praises to God for the strength He extended to both Charley and Emma during this three year ordeal. Praises to God for your witness and for His proof of answered prayers. Acknowledgment to God for His promise to always know our path even when we do not.

    Ever So Grateful HUGS

  • We're Home

I saw the most beautiful sight this morning I wished I could have captured it on photo.  A Cardinal was sitting on the top of the hummingbird feeder rod and it was being taunted by two humming birds.  It was so cool to watch must have only been a few seconds but it will last with me forever.

I have uploaded a lot of house and home photos so you might be able to understand my blog from the other day a little better.

HUGS to all thank you for all your prayers

  • "Home Is Where The Army Sends You"

The top photo of my site is the ridges of Moundsville and the bottom is the pesnitentiary. We have that saying proudly displayed in our entry way, knowing that we are soldiers in God's Army!  We are residents of a very small town "Moundsville" it comes with the charming real small downtown shops such beautiful old buildings.  Our Corps is located on the corner of Jefferson and 7th just over from the world renowned Penitentiary, that used to be used for the headquarters if there was a prison riot.  Our Corps / Chapel was built in late 1800's (I have to look at the front of the building and relearn my roman numerals) as the First Christian Church and then a car garage and now The Corps.  I am still trying to find out more history because it is one of the most beautiful building inside that I have seen in a long time.  It is just in need of some updating but unfortunately the updating will not uncover the beauty that lays beneath it is simply amazing.  Hopefully we will be able to encourage the locals to help fix it up so they can be proud of their history too.

Our 1959 house, that was fashioned after a "lakehouse", is full/large unopenable windows down three sides of the house and it used to have it's own shooting range in the basement.  Fans keep us semi cooled right now, we have a routine now of closing and opening sheers and blinds at certain times of the day for the light and to keep the heat down the windows on the back side are our favorite because of the view. We are located on on the edge of town just up from the Mount Rose Cemetery and are literally surrounded by the ridges of Grand Vue Park, that alone is a spectacular sight especially in the morning when the fog has not yet evaporated.  Our little area is considered a bird sanctuary but I think all the animals feel safe because every day all day long we get to watch deer and rabbits come in from the park and eat the apples in the back.  It has been quite a chore though to keep our dog Mia from "rolling" in their poo - it is so gross, she somehow feels it is necessary to come in smelling like a barn yard and she hates getting wiped off-go figure! Mia will run out and bark like she is so vicious but the deers still win because Mia  is on a lead and there are two babies that enjoy taunting her.

The move has been an adjustment especially since it was our first but it was good because we certainly got rid of a lot of "stuff" we were hanging onto since before training.  Emma has had a boring few weeks because she is in the midst of getting ready for college and doesn't get out much but certainly sits on the computer all day!

Charley is at TMI right now and says it is very hot. Before that he was able to get out into the community and meet a few people.  He is such a peoples person and loves to just chat, chat, chat.  As for me I have been experienceing some intense pain, we thought it was because of the move and over doing it but now we do not know.  I hope to stop hurting so bad soon.  I am going to Cleveland Clinic for the inplant in my lower spine to help regulate the nerve damage pain on August first.  I would greatly appriciate as many prayers that can be prayed thank you.  Hopefully it will not take me so long to get back on line.

A little you may not know about Moundsville, WV our new home sweet home.
Marshall County was formed in 1835 from Ohio County by act of the Virginia Assembly its southern border is the Mason-Dixon line. It is home to the largest Conical Burial Mound in North America.  In 1852, on Christmas Eve, workers completed the Baltimore & Ohio railroad at Rosby's Rock.

    The Official Marx Toy Museum
Producing Marx Toys from 1919 to 1980, Louis Marx & Company became the "largest manufacturer of toys in the world."  Factories in Erie and Girard, PA, along with their largest facility in Glen Dale, West Virginia, created the toys of generations past.  Just 1.5 miles from the original Glen Dale factory, The Official Marx Toy Museum provides an opportunity for families to relive childhood memories.  Come take a walk down memory lane...

  • My Blessed Day

I received a blog from a friend and it was about her blessing during a one day period and it prompted me to reflect on mine in the same way.  As many of you know my baby girl just graduated from High School is registered for university and in all that we are in the middle of packing and getting ready for a move.

I watched my baby text so fast that I am amazed.
I watch her roll her eyes at me while we carry the laundry down stairs.
I stand next to her as we attempt to make Mac and Cheese the way we both like it!
I get a hug and a kiss as she is leaving to go to her friends house until 3 am because she will only be able to visit with her for a little while longer.
I get to go to bed praying for my baby, that God will keep her safe and help her to make the right decisions.
I get to close my eyes knowing I am right.

About Me

  • Currently my adventures have been in the beautiful north western tip of West Virginia. Though my traveling days are short there is still so much to see. Being a Salvation Army Officer allows me to see Gods beauty in so many ways, it also allows me to see heart break and sorrow. Yet, life is always offering surprises if I allow it. A new phase is starting with our daughter starting her move to adulthood and me having to rediscover my life. There is no way to put the "basic info / profile" about me. The most important thing to know about me is that I love the Lord and try to help others see the big picture of what an awesome God He is. That's it!
